Being sceptical is OK

Our approach to tools and therapies that work with the subconscious or unconscious mind isn’t about convincing clients of its mystical powers; rather, it’s focused on empowering individuals to overcome their challenges. We specialize in addressing scepticism, transforming it into a non-issue to facilitate progress towards their goals. If you’re questioning those tools and therapies, remember the familiar experiences you’ve had—like dreams during sleep, fluctuations in mental states, and deep immersion in activities—which mirror the essence of working with the subconscious or unconscious mind.

Consider scepticism as a useful tool, akin to someone unfamiliar with cars initially doubting their functionality before experiencing their benefits. It’s crucial to maintain scepticism in navigating various aspects of life, from evaluating harmful habits to dealing with challenging situations. Embrace scepticism as a guiding force towards discernment and positive change.

Confidentiality

We will comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and keep clear and comprehensive records of all individual therapy including dates and advice given. These records will be kept in safe custody for seven years from the date of the last consultation or destroyed earlier if no longer needed. You have the right to access these records if you wish. Group activities may be recorded for training or group development purposes but are not required to be kept or made available. We will not discuss therapy outside the therapy environment, however, if you feel like following a therapy you need additional support please let your therapist know.

However, please note that if there are any disclosures during the therapy session which may be of a criminal nature or that put other people at risk, then I have a duty of care to disclose this information to the appropriate authority.

Information

The therapist will explain to you, the client, all the procedures involved in the therapy, including matters such as personal client records, content and length of consultations, likely number of consultations, fees etc.

The practitioner must keep clear and comprehensive records of all treatments/consultations including dates and advice given. These records will be kept in safe custody for seven years from the date of the last consultation. You have the right to access these records if you wish.

You will be fully informed about contra-indications if any, prior to agreeing to proceed with therapy or sessions.

We may need to agree to any homework if required to anticipate or support your progress.

Your personal data will be safe with us for the period indicated by the law and insurers and will be deleted afterward. You can have a copy of the information we hold about you, on request.

How long the treatment will last?

Depending on the issue you would like to address and the pace at which you need to assimilate the emerging information, the therapies may involve one session or a schedule of in-depth sessions; this will be discussed and agreed with you prior to commencing any therapies and will be reviewed with you as the therapies progresses to ensure you are still comfortable with the proposed timeline.

Can everybody use these therapies?

The NHS recommends not using hypnotherapy (and we add, working with the subconscious or unconscious mind) if you have psychosis or certain types of personality disorder, as it could make your condition worse. Check with a GP first if you’ve got a personality disorder.

We also recommend seeking your GP’s advice if you are under medical treatment (or had you been) for the following conditions:

  • Treatment from a GP, Psychiatrist/ Psychologist, Or Other  Complementary Practitioner
  • Psychosis (e.g. Schizophrenia)
  • Nervous / Psychotic Conditions
  • Depressive Illness
  • Risky Pregnancy, Heart Conditions, Breathing Problems, etc

We may ask for your GP’s confirmation in writing that he/she agrees the trance therapies may be beneficial to you. In circumstances where medical permission cannot be obtained, Clients must give their informed consent in writing before therapy.

Although there remain many other areas of human suffering in which hypnosis and other tools and therapies may bring relief, there are instances in which it may be contra-indicated. These could include some manifestations of depressive illness, epilepsy, psychosis (e.g. schizophrenia) and some breathing problems.” (GHR) Read more.

Your Health conditions and Emotions

Please ensure providing us with accurate information to enable us to perform an assessment of your case and propose the most suitable therapies. If you are aware of underlying conditions that would prevent you from undertaking therapy or that may cause you an adverse effect, please do let us know.

You are advised that, following therapy, people can sometimes feel “out of sorts” due to the unconscious or energy work that has been completed. This is very normal as the inner mind begins to work with its many potentials and resources. Please be aware that:

Distressing, unresolved memories or emotions may surface. Some clients have experienced reactions during the therapy sessions that neither they nor the therapists, may have anticipated. This can include a high level of emotion or physical sensations.

Following therapy, the processing of physical and mental wellbeing may continue, in the form of physical changes, dreams, memories, feelings etc. You may feel emotional or even lighter in emotions. Any reaction whether positive or negative may occur, but this is normal and expected. If you have no reaction at all, this is fine too.

No Diagnosis

The therapist practitioner does not diagnose conditions, nor do they prescribe or perform medical treatment, nor prescribe substances, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. It is recommended that you see a licensed physician or licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailment you may have. It is also recommended that if you are receiving treatment from a medical practitioner, you must inform my doctor/practitioner that you are receiving this therapy as well.

Please note that the complementary therapies are not a substitute for medical or psychological diagnosis and treatments provided by a hospital or for the course of treatment prescribed by a consultant. Therapies are designed to be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments and are used to seek to relieve the symptoms of disease or the side effects of conventional medical treatments.

No guaranteed results

It is not possible to guarantee the outcome of any course of treatments/consultations, therefore the terms on which it is offered, should be stated clearly, with subsequent revisions being agreed in advance of any change.

This is to ensure you are fully alert before driving away or ask a loved one to pick you up if you’d feel more comfortable. Having provided you with this advice and guidance we relinquish any responsibility connected to this.

As we use hired premised during in-person events, we ask your cooperation complying with the local arrangements for the health and safety of everyone within the venue. You will be always treated with care and respect, and we expect kindness and respect in return.
